Maggie is an OFFIE Winner

2023 has started with a bang! After being nominated for 2 Offies (Lead Performance and Best Director), we are so delighted to share that Maggie won the Special OneOff award for all her hard work at The Big House.

Thank you to the Offies (The OffWestEnd Theatre Awards) for having us last night, it was such an incredible experience. The Offies celebrates the achievements of independent, alternative and fringe theatre in London and the OneOff award is to highlight the work of an inspiring person or company post-Covid.

Maggie has been at the heart of everything at The Big House for the last 10 years. As a team, we have been able to help change the lives of our young people and we are so blessed to have her lead, and to see all our effort, love and time be recognised by the Offies.

Nkechi was also nominated for Lead Performance in Mission written by David Watson, we couldn’t be prouder of the Mission cast who were an exceptional ensemble. As a team, we’re inspired daily, and this is just one example of how fortunate we are to interact, work and learn from our wonderful young people.

Finally, here are some beautiful words from Maggie on the breathtaking awards night:

“It was an honour to accept a Special OneOff Award at The Offies last night given to The Big House for our work over ten years. Accepting this on behalf of the incredible young people, staff, volunteers, artists and audiences that we work with, was humbling. We’d like to thank the Off West End Awards for their special recognition of our work and we’d like to thank our funders who have supported us. This is for the young people past, present and future who inspire us daily”.
